So, here's the first tune in a long series of covers, I'm really excited to see where it goes, and I'll definitely be trying my best to mess things up as best as I can. This first tune has always been on my list of tunes to cover, but I never really quite knew the style I wanted to do. Recently, I was re-listening to the "TRY!" album by The John Mayer Trio. I remember listening to "Good Love is On The Way" more than a couple dozen of times. I was at work one evening, humming it and just jamming for a little bit, washin' dishes, etc... And for whatever reason "That's why they call me Loyalty" seemed to just... shove itself in there. No idea why, but I remember realizing that it worked well. So I went home, wrote the lick, and made the super hard decision as to whether or not I wanted it to be in major or minor.

That literally took a couple of weeks, I'm not kidding you.

So here is my concept for Loyalty: John Mayer meets AcoustiMandoBrony! I wouldn't quite say that this is exactly John Mayer, since I'm nowhere near as good as John Mayer or Pino Palladino.BUT I still tried and I really like the result. I hope you do, too!
