Pencil Eraser - The Fast and the Fabulous (All These Lives) [2015 Version]
Instead of another crappy April Fool's video, I decided to actually release something for real :P
I can't tell you how excited I am to finally release this song. It's been a long time coming, and I've looked forward to sharing this as I've chipped away at it over the past few months. For those who have been with me since the near beginning or for those who have checked out my older work (you know who you are, and thank you!), you'll recognize this as a vastly improved version of my third song back in 2012. I recorded, remixed, and remastered almost everything from scratch to bring this track up to my current standards. Those who have seen my Q&A know I have a certain soft spot for this song and have wanted to have a second go at it for quite some time. Whether you've heard the old version or not, I hope you guys enjoy!

PPS. I have a big announcement to make that will be followed by a formal video soon: In addition to this song, I'm remaking two other old songs, "Break" and "Blind Fate and Imperfections," and making full band versions of "Never Going Back" and "Best Laid Plans." These songs along with some others I've already released and also ones you've never heard will be compiled into a full-length album called Overcoming Shyness (you might have noticed this as the album name for some of my tracks). The tentative release date is sometime Winter or Spring 2016, given the time frame of how I work on music, but this could change. BACKGROUND:
This song is for all the people who aren't sure who they really are, who their real friends are, or where they fit in the complicated mess some of us call a social life.
I wrote this song based off my own experiences and off of Season 2's episode "Sweet and Elite," seeing myself in Rarity and her predicament of having to choose between two different sets of people, lifestyles, friends. In my life, I've been both blessed and cursed to have met and befriended so many diverse and interesting people. I end up having to make hard decisions, like who I should hang out with one day and whether I want to do what they want to do. And to be honest, sometimes I want to go out and party while other times I want to relax at home on TF2 with Steam buddies. But between all my circles of friends, online and offline, I lead very different lives. I act differently around different groups (some don't even know I like ponies, some are religious or big partiers and I'm not), and sometimes I lose sight of just who I really am and what I stand for. But in the end, do I really need the friends who I'm so unlike, so different from?
