3 years ago on this day, the first episode of MLP:FiM aired, this calls for a celebration! A lot of things happened in these 3 years. I wanted to thank and dedicate this piece to all the friends I met because of this show, and to all the new listeners too! Thanks for everything, thanks for these fun years on the internet!

This time I made something I never did before, you could call it a "remix". The starting material is of course the season 3 finale song "A True True Friend" by Daniel Ingram, I orchestrated it and then made a series of variations based on that melody/harmony; the beauty of this process is that it starts quite simply and it ends being something very different from the original song, but still using the same melodies and harmonies. Also, the term "Rhapsody" refers to a free musical form, usually used to convey a sense of enjoyment and fun, that's why you won't find a strong directional structure in this piece, it's more like an episodic structure, each episode being a playful new way to use the orchestra.
