Luna looked up at her big sister... the sister she hadn't seen in a thousand years. She sniffled and nuzzled close into the white fur before her. Finally, she had been reunited.
"Come, little sister. I think you'll want to see your new home."
Celestia spread her wings and motioned for Luna to follow suit, flying out of the castle and into the fading light of the sun.
Close behind, Luna followed, letting the wind sift through her feathers. She looked up and gasped. There, in all its glory, was the starry night sky—a night sky she hadn't seen in many, many years, for she had been banished to look towards Equestria.
"They're beautiful, aren't they?" whispered Celestia, flying nearer her sister so that their wings nearly touched.
"They are."
Two princesses spiraled through the air and took in the sights, simply enjoying each other's company and they made their way north of Ponyville.
Rounding a mountain, the full splendor of Canterlot came into view: bright lights, a giant castle built into the side of a mountain, with hundreds of ponies frolicking in the night. Struck in awe, Luna slowly made her way to her new home, smiling brightly at her sister.

Alas, I had this piece ready to post a few days ago, but my ISP had some malfunctioning equipment that took over a week to get fixed, and so my upload speeds were completely hosed. But—it is back and better than ever!
I started this song months ago, and I kept learning new things while I made it, and things just never quite fit together. I really wanted this to work, but after about 50 hours of playing with it, I had started to do more harm than good to the song, so I wrapped it up and now, here it is.
So while I'm not terribly thrilled with the way this came out (compared to my original vision for the song), I'm still pretty happy with it.
All of that said, I finally took a look at some music theory the other day... for the first time... ever. That's right! All of my previous works here have been completed without knowing a single thing about music theory, it was all based on what I thought sounded good and some amount of general dicking around until it worked.
I have another piece in progress now that not only has even better sounding instruments than this, I'm also starting to apply some actual theory and a large amount of thought to it (I'm also working on better transitions. I suck at those). Keep an eye out for that relatively soon. In the meantime, enjoy "Coming Home".
