So anyway, much like my track Oxygen, the lyrics in this song were originally inspired by my friend Aquatic-Angel's WIP novel, and also Like Oxygen, it has a very duel meaning.
The pony side of it being a story about Trixie's conflict with Twilight Sparkle and the mane 6, and on a deeper level, her own conflicts within herself leading up to the end of Magic Duel.

(Also, bout' time I wrote a Trixie song, she's to awesome to leave her hanging without one ;D)

So yeah, I had a lot of fun working on this song, be sure to go check out the orignal musician of this track EnV, the guy is an absolute wizard :3

--In response to everyone asking why this song is called "The Paladin"--
Going by the dictionary definition, a Paladin is "a knight renowned for heroism and chivalry." Which is pretty much everything Trixie is not ;P However, if you take a look at the lyrics, they suggest that maybe Trixie has the potential to be that.
So, in retrospect, its a song about how while Trixie remains an antagonist (at least up till' the end of "Magic Duel") she still has the potential to be a hero like Twilight, if only she would listen and learn from her mistakes =)
